photobucket/iphone problem

Post by agentpineapple »

up until a few weeks ago all was fine, i'd take a picture on my iPhone 4 and upload it onto my laptop, then upload it to photobucket. never a problem.
but now it just won't let me, I've not changed any settings on the phone or photobucket.
and I can still upload pictures from the internet to photobucket, just not when a photo is taken by my phone....... :(
all I get is this....Upload Failed: IMG_0937.JPG
I'm using a free photobucket account and I've used 57% of what's available.
has anyone else had this issue?
if so, how did you resolve it.

quick update, how strange is this, if I upload the picture to facebook, then save the photo back onto my laptop, then it can be uploaded to photobucket, it doesn't make sense.......

Try opening the image on your computer, then re-saving it, then upload to PB

Photobucket used to be great but it went downhill after the big re-design a while ago.

Have you tried using the app to upload straight from your phone?

Your not wrong there. It's the same with all these companies, they start off great but then get too big for their boots. The muppets don't even realise the consequences of introducing so many scripts for cool looking effects. What use is a bloody effect if the basic structure and workings of a site does not work and there is no backwards comparability. They probably paid some web design company many 1000's to get that built but as long as it looks good that cool ay  I even emailed at the time and complained about all the rubbish scripts they introduced at the time. A bit of customer feedback for them.

Marty I meant open it up in an app for opening images and saving images, on your computer and re-saving. Not transfer. Give it a different name too if you need to. The picture you tale off faceppop is not the same picture you upload. It is compressed and re-named. The original metadata is most likely stripped as well.

Yeah they had feedback boxes pop up when it was being rolled out in beta. I gave a lot of negative responses but it didn't seem to help.

I will however keep using it as it's what I'm used to now and I've a decent sized library there.

sorted, thanks to lee morgan, the issue was file size, the iPhone photo's were to large (much like myself) I've used a photo optimiser to compress the photo and now they load onto PB......

What... I have never had issues with file size before. They just take longer to upload, but I am on a paid account so maybe that makes a difference.
