Re the clutch to cable conversion, I seem to remember that the guy said you had to grind a bit off the cases to fit it & that you use one less bolt to fit it on. Also on his one there was no sprocket cover in place, this may be simply for quick changes of sprockets I don't know coz I didn't ask.
Tony was doing most of the talkin & salivating, I'm sure he'll be along in a bit to confirm, unless of course he is sulking as Yeti bought the cheap bits first.
Bazza sorry to hear about the head, stupid thing is I did have some sun cream in me bag, just forgot to get it out! I would have done you a good deal on a couple of squirts!
Oh yeah I took that jacket back today, 4 months old, no receipt & they changed it with out a quibble, I upgraded to an RST item!

Hi
I'm Dave runs the pair of Storms in Thunderbike UK
I've just introduced myself on the newbie page
Me and Terry Everest came up with this cable clutch idea, after having a year of struggling to get off the line
From memory, from the Varadero you need; the sprocket cover, actuating rod, cable, cable retainer bracket for the bottom end and the lever.
The srocket cover needs loads cutting off it, but this is fine on the race bikes. I'll try and stick a pic on our website (1771racing.co.uk), but it's really best to talk to Terry... 01825 890313
One thing I can tell you, it makes a big difference. But if you want to go the whole hog to get the perfect drag start, you need the Sigma Slipper Clutch as well
Hope this helps

Re: thunder bikes at brands hatch
Hey, Dave, good to talk to you lot, and Kevin Van der Worp. I went off and found Mark Hill and spoke to him about building race pipes as well.
Yeti, I didn't even think about the clutch conversion until i've just read this, TBH I had just spent three long days building my bike and repairing Rob's, and so I was just chillin' and talkin' the talk. When I got up early Sunday morning, I had no rear brake, no clutch, no numberplate, the rear light wasn't installed or wired in, rear wheel not aligned, chain not correctly tensioned, various bolts an fittings not yet tightened; it was a bit of luck that I got everything sorted and together before you lot arrived at half past nine.... . Just a bit frazzled at the moment.
But a lot of good ideas to be thought about for a while, bypass sections on exhausts being one that kept me awake last night.....
As to the clutch mod, I'm not going to get a chance to finish the other things I need to do on mine before getting off to the Bulldog Bash drag strip, so I haven't time to play any more, I'll just have to ride round the problem.
Good day's racing, though.
Thanks for your company, gentlemen.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: thunder bikes at brands hatch
I will have a tinker with mine and see if I can get it finished by Silverstone meet, then you can have a go Tony and see what you think, maybe it could be something to do before the next bull dog bash.
Re: thunder bikes at brands hatch
look forward to any advice that can be given and all pictures will be appreciated, as I am waiting for the bits to turn up and then have a bash at converting it the cable.davwas wrote:Hi

Hi
I've stuck a pic of the cable conversion on our website, in the "News" section http://www.1771racing.co.uk/
And, in case it's of interest? A shot of the steering stops I use
If anyone wants full size pics, or anything else, drop me an email: team(at)1771racing(dot)co(dot)uk
