It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Home safe
Only photo I took was of a pink lipstick graffiti knob painted on my mudguard But plenty of memories
Big thanks to everybody who made the effort to get there and make the event as much fun as it was.
Kev cheers for taking the time to organise and tail gunning the progressive group.
Phil, cheers for the tent share hospitality and the electric kettle
Cheers to all the progressive group for some good riding skills and team work with the 2nd man drop off. We were like a machine
Cheers to
ziggy for the barby,
Ady for the JD, hope you are feeling better now
Mac for the cigs, sorry no Buckfast
Baz. for the hugs, and firewood, I'd you leave the graffiti on your screen for the ride home?
tony for the word play (he is a cunning linguist ),
grumpyf for snoring,
Jamie for sharing the ride home,
big Steve for smiling like a Cheshire Cat every time we came to a stop,
fire spook for the green lights so I could always tell where he was, and the welsh cakes for breakfast
budd for the pain control, 300miles of spirited riding with your knees .... They must still be hurting
Darkember for looking happy
Kev and ads for the sausage butty and banter
Tony for fetching the cider... Do I owe you anything?:
Shaun for getting his bike fixed and making it a late night dash to the campsite
To Steve and his lad . For spot on time keeping for the 10am start The red and black bike looks good
And the the new faces, Kev and knobby the kill switch king
Welsh wales for the weather, the roads and the stunning scenery
Big Steve ... Tell your mate, it wasn't a bother waiting for him on the ride home, I feel bad that he was worried about it and took off by himself at the petrol stop
Need a new back tyre for Mallory now

Great to see you all again and meet some more Stormers, all great characters.
As expected everyone was on top form, banter, riding and comradeship a plenty
Really had fun on Saturday on the twisties and the ride back home following Amcq was fun too!
So many wicked memories and funny tales from such a short space of time, my mind is a blank at the mo and I'm shattered, but I've got a huge smile on my face, thanks to you wonkers
Thanks chaps
p.s met Mrs Mcq again today....

Re my knees I was quite worried leading up to the weekend that I may have problems due to the distance it’s the furthest I’ve ridden since I had the knee replacement, so the prospect of 300 ish miles was something I approached with some apprehension. Coupled to this I’d already decided to go with the progressive group so I was doubly worried that my knees wouldn’t allow me to go the distance and also with my compromised riding ability I wouldn’t be able to keep up, but to be honest it wasn’t problem my knees held up very well considering the distance and the spirited riding, (prescription painkillers are a wonderful thing ) and the second man drop off system worked exceptionally well (cheers to Kev for tail gunning you did a hell of a job) the knowledge you aren’t going to be left behind is very reassuring.
Great weekend all round and while at my age I know shouldn’t wish my life away but the next Op Storm can’t come soon enough.
Time for a hot bath and a large glass of something cold

Thanks a lot for the weekend fellas! One of the best weekends I've had in a while. Even if Tony would'nt let me overtake him and I didn't finish my chips
My mate Kev enjoyed himself too, kept saying thanks for inviting him.
Thanks again

I'll pass the message on. Maybe he just didn't need fuel, that blackbird has a 25litre tank! (comes in handy as a reserve tank when you going touring with him on a storm!)AMCQ46 wrote:Home safe

Re: Op Storm II Part 5, Rhayader Sept 13th 2014
Great weekend everyone, sad it's over for another year now though
Great to see all the regulars again and great to see so many new faces. Let's hope this yearly homage continues for a long time yet.
Al - thank you for leading our group, as always, excellent roads, blistering pace, top day.
Kev - thank you for back marking our group.
Flatty & Ady, I am sure your group appreciates the ride out you two ran and will want to thank you both
Everyone else for putting in the effort to come and make this weekend what it is.
Roll on Mallory park now, 25th Oct, will be a fitting end to this year's riding with so many members from here attending.
Here's a load of pictures I took:
Thursday night - arrival:
Friday, back at the camp site the others start to arrive:
And some of the bikes:
Firespook's LED halos, this was taken in daylight with a very low sensitivity, looks pretty cool:
Is that a sausage in your exhaust Ady?
And is this breakfast?
The group before the day's riding:
On the ride out:
The group back at camp:
My 32oz steak. The picture doesn't do it justice, it was huge, and thick, and oh so good
Lovely little camp fire:
And the departing gifts:

Re: Op Storm II Part 5, Rhayader Sept 13th 2014
didn't you see me limping around when we got back to camp? many years ago I had a big accident involving a FZR 600 and a tree (the bike had to be cut out of the tree!!!) unfortunately there’s only one winner when trees and limbs come together suffice to say wood tends to be tougher then bone, I hit the tree with my knee the impact shattered the knee end of my femur resulting in 3 months in hospital and a totally destroyed left knee joint, they subsequently replaced the whole knee joint but the ligaments remain knackered so I have very little movement in my left leg which is why I have moved the gear change forward 6 inch, so I struggle with ground clearance and can’t move around the bike as I’d like, I suppose really should have given up on biking after my accident but I still enjoy it so I put up with the discomfort and compromised riding position and try to make the best of what I’ve got, after all if it had been my head that hit the tree I doubt I’d be here at all !!!Jamoi wrote:
