Mallory Park Photos 25th Oct 14

Post by Miztaziggy »

Going to put the link here in another thread so it doesn't get lost. There's a lot of photos to look through, I resized them all to 30% and it still took nearly 4 hours to upload. If anyone wants an original of something in here for printing just PM me.

You took some great (and not so great) photos here Virt, thank you for your efforts :D Hopefully we'll have you on track with us next time.

**
Lots of these are quite dark as the ISO setting was too low for such a fast shutter speed.
If anyone wants to brighten these you can do it by downloading a free photo editing software called GIMP2 here:
http://www.gimp.org/

It's basically Photoshop made by the open source community and available free.

Open a photo in the software and then click on the 'COLOURS' menu.

In that menu, click the 'BRIGHTNESS-CONTRAST' option and set it to approx 70 Brightness and 50 Contrast. You can play around with the numbers until it looks just right. This is the difference:

In my defence the photos didn't look too dark on the camera screen as the day progressed :(

Some of the photos are nice though, still gutted that the only person with proof of getting their knee down is bloody Lloydie

I can't believe how far my bike is lent over in the 3rd one from bottom. I couldn't have had much more to lean there. Still never managed to get my knee down though :( but look at that lean angle :biggrin

Some good photos there Virt, well done

After studying the photo and video evidence i have concluded on the reason CK (and me) didn't get a knee down.

Nothing to do with corner speed or angle of the dangle.

Alistair and Lloydie clearly have leg extenders fitted..... !!!!!!

Haha this is very true. If I want to get my knee on the floor my outter foot has to be tip toeing on the peg, which probably isn't good on a track

Great photos Will, you were busy  I assume the darker ones could be adjusted in photo shop?

I think lloydie wins the award for looking the most purposeful and aggressive, although some times it look like jack millers gag riding after he wins a race.
In most of my pictures I look like I am out for a gentle bimble on the road 8O , but some of this is the high bars makes it look like I am relaxing.. But in my head I think I am getting right off the side of the bike, but truth is I only moved a couple of inches :?

Stuart, you need to get your toes up onto the pegs or it will cost you a fortune in boots.

Yes Otter feet would be a problem. Damn phone, I meant outer foot

Yeah I noticed Stuarts feet being rather close and would explain the state of his boots

Im lucky I didn't loose a foot. Decided to change up a gear coming round devils elbow while cranked right over :eek2 1degree more lent over and I think it would have been rather nasty

Not sure how acruate it is but just use a clinometer app on my phone on the photo of me ground round that bend. I'm at 47degree lean :eek2 How much more would you reckon I had before it got nasty?

That's why I was telling you and Lloyd to short shift before the apex, it can get nasty if you catch your toe going round there

So just don't use the clutch to do it then? Have to admit I was a bit nervous trying that with mine after the electric issues I had  Didn't want to risk it any more than it already was
