Yorkshire Meet Friday 15th May - South East ride up

As it is getting close, I thought I would start off with meetingtimes and location for the ride up on Friday.

We could meet at Birchanger Green service J8 on the M11(CM23 5QZ) at around 10.15-10.30, have a chin wag, drink and fill the bikes up the head off.

That will leave a 4 and a half hour ride up A1M etc and we will be getting to the campsite around 3 to 3.30pm.

What does everyon think??

Any of you guys coming up from the South and feel like they would like to split the journey up are welcome to stay at ours for the night while on route
Me, cheekyads and cheekysue are hoping to camp over Friday and Saturday, we'll just have to see how things pan out, got quite a lot on in May with TT etc, plus I've been busy building a Café racer out of a BMW R80RT, if the worst comes to it me and cheekyads will just come over for the ride, but we will make every effort to camp all weekend

I'm planning on heading up Thursday and have the Friday to tool around a bit, get some heat into the tyres and get used to a few new bits.

Alternatively I'll spend Thursday getting the bike finished and ride up with you on Friday.
People are promising me two week turnrounds on some engineering, but that could easily be three or four weeks.....I'll know nearer the time.

If I go up Thursday I'll take the wriggly roads and make a day of it.

I will wait for further instructions nearer the time. Would prefer to have someone to ride up with on Friday, don't mind you taking the lead on some bendy roads on the way up.

If the southern chapter fancies a great route up go to Derby and just head north,will take you through some amazing and beautiful roads if you haven't been to matlock or glossop etc will take about an hour longer but you won't notice as the scenery is stunning.

Yep Devon & Wales for me this year, anyway I don't have a flat cap, more unnecessary expense if I wanted to go...

I have been looking into locations to meet up, and becuase we need to progress so we can have as much time to work on Tony's storm, I have looked at our fuel stops along the way and our second stop will be Wetherby services(LS22 5ET). My calculations show we will be there after 1pm if you want to meet there for our last fuel stop before the campsite, but you can appreciate that its a long way from home, thererfore greater chance of delay.

So it is upto you if you want to meet, or just see as at the campsite as it's only 50 odd miles from these services.
