This is part of their speech-recognition tech, which uses third parties (whose privacy policies Samsung doesn’t make any representations about) to turn your words into text.

Is it even possible to delete a persons history or footprint online? If someone wanted to disappear from online existence is it even possible?

1984 does...there was a Microsoft patent for full motion video from 5 imbedded (sic) cameras in the screen itself. It cycles which camera it uses to produce the full motion video.
You think Samsung doesn't have that in their screens? Not the little camera on top as the distractor. Ppl are just too stupid to live.

on the other hand, I was visiting a friend on Friday, and we got talking about bikes, I mentioned about visiting Jamie the following weekend, god knows how but the topic of jamies mum was discussed.
I said hang on a mo, I tapped these three words into google image search......Jamie's mum vtr, and up popped the image of her on jamies silver bike..
so tech isn't all bad..........

Not really when you consider there are sites like the way back machine to travel back in time on the net. Once up it up.

Fools that think this is a handy feature on their new gadgets because they even don't care, are thick, or naive. If only they understood the consequences of all this considering that identity fraud is the crime of the century.

Yep my computers webcam is disabled via a terminal command and only switched on when I want to use it. My old man has kept a post it note over his camera for many years.

You joke about it. It's one thing the governments spying on us but it's another when commercial businesses spy on us and start gathering data. This IMO is a step to far in being intrusive. What is this Cold war Russia or Korea. Actually no, it's worse because it's not so obvious and more underhand tactics being used.

GCHQ Bude, I know it well. They intercept and monitor all transatlantic communications in and out of the country.

The American Gov (NSA) put quite a few million pounds towards the making of that building and it's tech.

Yep bonkers is one word for it. Long gone are the days where one has to get up and move the aerial around on top of the set to get a good picture.

I for one wont be investing in such tech. Bit what worries me that people don't stand up to this and put a stop to it. There always going to be some fool that innocently thinks it's a good idea. And the the old excuse, "well I'm not doing anything illegal so I have no reason to worry" does not cut it with me, they are the most naive of the lot of them, just like when ID cards where to be forced on us.

It's all made worse by the advent of thought crimes (wrong thinking, political correctness, hate speech and the like.) I am even hearing rumbles of crime prevention that takes action before a crime is committed. The film "Minority report" explores some of this. In a rudimentary form, just data gathering and identifying "high risk" individuals might not seem so far fetched. Mr. law abiding citizen might come to grief, as you say, over a few poorly chosen words.

There was the peculiar case of ACS:Law sending out letters demading monies from folk for downloading pron based on home addresses of individuals provided by ISPs from in turn monitored IP addresses.Thankfully Virgin media didn't want anything to do with them but BT sold out on their customers.

Funnily enough the law firm's emails were hacked which made entertaining and illuminating reading ;-)

Both barristers for the defendants have questioned whether IP addresses - the numerical code which identifies the network connection - can be used as evidence and Judge Birss has raised doubts about whether accusing someone of "allowing" their network to be used for illegal file-sharing is a watertight argument.

With the government pledging to get tough on net pirates, there will be many waiting to see what Judge Birss says when he delivers his judgement in a few days.

gents. i work in lets say a rather sensitive area over here in NI. and there are certain words and the like that pop up lets say and are noticed by the tinternet watchers. if i was to type say my location that i work in on this thread,my boss could tell me what id said and who read it and who posted on the same thread.... you hear people saying big brother is watching you? most folk dont know how real that is. scary..
