New brake pistons and seals fitted to the 2 that were slightly corroded.

Then wheel Assembled to check all spacers are correct

Wheel bang on in the middle

Disc spacers need 0.5mm more taken off to put them bang in the middle of the calliper, but I left a bit on to be safe. Image

Will leave it at that as birthday drinking has started.

Today I finished assembling the SP2 after having some panels and the tank painted. All it needs now is a clean and it's ready for listing to sell.
I'll leave it until the weather warms up in the spring.

I know they say you never get your money back for upgraded parts, but I can't change ingrained habits- when refitting the SP2 mirrors the M6 cap head mounting bolts looked a little grubby so I used some new titanium ones instead. Much shinier! That will be the last titanium parts I'll be fitting to that bike, but then, there's not many steel ones left to change!

I also fitted some Ti sprocket nuts to the Tuono, I don't really want to replace all of the fork and front brake bolts with titanium on this bike, as the front end is already floating at speed, due to sitting upright and wide bars.
(But I probably won't be able to help myself).

While the Tuono was accessible I cleaned and lubed the chain, so it won't be a hanging rusty mess when lockdown finally ends and the sun comes out, after the winter salt has gone.
I'm not laying it up, so if there's a dry day I'll have a little hoon over the winter.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Sort of over the last week or so really... but an education! Bled and sorted out rear brake under the watchful eye of my father in law (who actually knows what he’s doing). Oil + filter changes. Then installed these rather tasty looking carbon Scorps kindly provided by Kev L - very handy having someone with lots of goodies just down the road! (Will upload a sound check at a later date... they sound cracking)

Cleaned up + copper greased the front brake bits today aided by my 2 year old... who thought he’d try to put an improvised baffle back into the scorps... he’s a worse mechanic even than me! Fortunately have some long snipe nosed pliers.

Next up - new number plate as this one’s peeling, and possibly new heated grips as the left ones stopped working, just in time for the cr@p weather!
