What sort of gone pop?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hi Tony. It started with a noise which sounded like a whistling from the engine. It then stopped making that noise and it had a knocking noise. This was 2 miles into the ride out and I stopped after around 500m or so.

I could see a small amount of oil coming from somewhere on the left side of the bike. I couldn't see where from looked to be from the top of engine.

Once I've cleared my head ill start to strip the bike down. I my just have to get hammered today..

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

Did it have automatic cam chain tensioners?

Found the problem, manaul CCT bolts have fallen off! I did lock tight both fitting.

I hope nothing has been damaged.

Opps. I would imagine that the minimum amount of damage will be bent valves but only a strip down of the top end will tell.

Did you shut it down ASAP or was it running for a bit sounding like a bag of spanners ?

Just out of intrest where did you get the MCCT's from ?

How long ago did you swap them ?

Have you ridden it much since the swap ?

Hi Mac,

Swapped them last summer and I've only covered arou d 400 to 500m since then due to lock down. I can't them off ebay, good reviews and lots of sales.

I've just checked the MCCT and it's tight, I don't know what happened to the other.

If the piston is bent, what kind of cost am I looking at? Bike isn't worth more the £1500 I guess!!!

On the up side, I'm half pissed and watching the GP, come Sam...
