What's annoyed you today??

This is not motorcycle related but it is annoying. I had to take my mom and dad to his and her's doctor's appointments today. It was a circus. Dad is in the nursing facility and mom is not. I had to get the handi-van to drive my dad and myself while my long suffering wife drove my mom. All the real details are really up to me but my mom and to some extent my dad have to run everything. They ask endless questions and then they asked them over and over because they can’t remember that they asked them already! They pester the receptionist, the nurse and the doctor with crazy questions that are unrelated to the visit.

It got me thinking, I was sitting with my dad in the waiting area and a guy my age, with a slovenly slacker look, walked in with is frail but nicely dressed mom. It hit me, “thank God for all the children that were a sore disappointment to their parents.” The successful ones, like my sister, see their parents for three days every 2 years. I am sure I was the subject of much hand wringing and derision in conversations my parents had about me and the fact that I would never amount to anything. It’s a good thing I didn’t because if I had a real job and real responsibilities there would be no one to haul their asses around. All i have to say is you might just cut your slacker kids some slack. They may be the ones taking care of you in the future.
