severe sunburn

Post by agentpineapple »

every couple of years I forget to apply suntan lotion to my noggin and I pay the price, I don't realise it at the time until it's too late, I end up with a badly burnt forehead, yes I have fair skin and I go red before any other colour, I also admit that it's no one else's fault than my own, but this year it's really bad, even my nose and chin have burnt... :(
it starts out as small lumps and bumps, then it blisters and the skin breaks, it looks ferking terrible and it doesn't feel to good either.
so the moral of the story is always apply suntan lotion.
here's a few pics to put you off your dinner........

  I have only ever been that bad once before, where it blisters and scabs. I got my back pretty burned when I was on a live aboard dive trip in the Red Sea. It was so bad I missed out on dives as I could not put my wetsuit on.

Ouch! Wouldn't want to put on or pull off a crash helmet over that :eek2 - Keep drinking fluids (not the falling over kind) and keep in the shade. For that severity of sunburn it needs proper treatment with special elbow cream - pop into local doctors / A&E.

Next time wear one of these :p

Ouch, that looks nasty. The Mrs got bad sun burn in the south of France last year, luckily it didn't blister but after she has a hot bath or shower you can stiull see where it was. She was purple when burnt.

I never really bother with it as if I'm in the sun I normally have my leathers on but I really should start using it just incase. Hope all heals well Marty, you don't seem to be having much luck over there with forgetting to put on protection, eye,Sun cream. What next? :s

Wow. That's bad that Marty. Never seen out like that before, just shows it can catch even the experienced out. Might be a while till you can wear a Helmet. Hope there's no long term damage.

every 3 or so years I get a little burnt, about the size of a tea spoon, but this is something else, i'd like to say that I've learnt my lesson, and if things don't improve by tomorrow, I will be going to see my local doctor..... :(
