*important please read*

Post by Jazzscot »

Im not going into the why's and hows of this post but lets just say some of the opinions expressed recently on this forum have been pretty close to flouting forum rules.

As site admin I have a duty to make this forum an inclusive place for anybody to visit who owns (or not) a VTR. I think we do a good job and will continue to do so.

May I remind you of the rules.

http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 18&t=19054

Particularly the following:

2. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning (see policing below).

4. The duties of the vtr1000.org admin and moderator teams are to ensure the smooth running of the forums. The teams have at their discretion a right to moderate any thread that is found to be inappropriate.

6. Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic, racist or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.

Thanks for listening.

What Im basically saying is:

If some threads disappear you will know why.

Also before you press the submit button

Ask yourself, if I was a moderator/Admin does this post meet the rules?

Isnt this sort of political corectness / censorship is what led to the likes of these girls being abused in Rotherham and covered up.

rules are rules I guess but I certainly didn't threaten anyone and I don’t recal anyone else making threats, just expressing opinions, it looks like free speech only works one way these days, disappointed !!!
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .

Ziggy you are quite correct it is a form of censorship which I make no apology for.

This forum is feck all like Rotherham mate, and I take offence at the very thought of being likened to something so horrific.

However my offence will not kill me and I will continue to be "the fat controller" of our beloved forum

Surely that is a fattest comment lol

I know it's tough biting your your tongue so to speak that's why I don't comment on a lot of topics that make my sh1t itch

Moderators do a great job but I would still like to see humour and scantily clad females :)

Being one of the Admin team, I am in full support of this move, and I was involved in the discussions on this subject from the start.

I have to say, the majority of the time this Forum runs along very well, it's rare we have to step-in to get things back on track. Of course when we do we are seen by some as the bad guys, but as Jazz points out, we wouldn't be doing our job as part of the Admin/Moderator team if we didn't.

I can tell you being on the Admin side is not always fun, there are also things that go on behind the scenes which take up a fair amount of our time that you don't ever see.
Sometimes I ask myself why do I do it, the answer to that has to be my love for Motorcycling, it's Brother/Sisterhood and of course my beloved Firestorm.

Members keep telling us we have one of the best Forums out there, we want it to stay that way.

Jazz
That is basically it, sometimes it's not so much what we say, but how we word it.
