I hope not as I have already replaced that with a finned one, it was probably the fact that I hadn't ridden it for a couple months and charged the battery up enough to start it... and then went for a blatt and pulled over for a smoke turned it off and oopsy not enough juice to start it...

you'll need a multimeter to check the r/r, have a search thru the workshop section for details, I've used a couple of motobatts, very good batteries, the only thing to be careful of, is not to cross thread the two small bolts for the positive/negative leads, as they are a soft metal.... :(

Sounds like battery - even a maintenance free battery needs care & attention. Trickle charging at least every couple of weeks to keep it topped up. Leaving it to go flat can permanently damage the battery.

Bung a new battery in and run a multimeter over the charging system to rule out any other problem.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I picked up a yuasa battery for a very reasonable price a couple of months back off of ebay, that's my preference :)

I've heard people say the motobatt wont fit in the space properly and the cover won't go on. In the battery box there are strips of foam on the under side of the lid and in the bottom of the tray, you need to at least remove the ones from the underside of the lid, maybe from the tray too (can't remember) then the battery will fit, it will be tight and difficult to remove again but it will fit and the lid too..
