Olympics 2016

Post by Kev L »

What do we reckon then chaps, looking forward to it all? Certain sports/disciplines? Will the Russian athletes be missed?
Whilst I admire anyone with the determination to train to the standard required to get that far, I must confess only certain parts appeal to me.
Certainly wouldn't want to be taking part in the sailing/watersports in the bay given the quality of the water. If you fall in you're likely to surface with a Brazilian Richard the Third sticking out of your ear!
I remember when the games were awarded this was identified as an issue, and the promise was that things would be improved, but very little seems to have been resolved.
Anyhow, waddaya think?

Doesn't appeal to me at all. They are using the Olympics to score political points against Russia. What do you think would happen to Lizzy Armistead if she was Russian?

It's all a charade, full of drugs cheats.

The shooting and the boxing, rest are for toffs and boring as fook.
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

I'll be interested to see how Jo Pavey does, it's amazing how well she has done.
Also being Cornish I'll be wishing (virtually) Helen Glover and her rowing partner Heather Stanning to do well.

The first gold medal for Team GB 2012 Olympics was won by Cornish girl Helen Glover and her rowing partner Heather Stanning in the coxless pairs 8)

I saw on TV that they have an event called the Badminton Horse trials, and I'm quite keen to see how they hold the racquets in their hooves.

How about volleyball in bikinis for the ladies, but they're allowed to pull hair and scratch each other.
They could call it bitch volleyball.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
