Man Down...

Post by MacV2 »

..again & this time it's not me !

Had a call from Vanstub tonight direct from A&E at Queens Hosp in Romford.

Victim of a SMIDSY a granny driven Merc right turn across him...

Complaining of a very painfull knee but sounds like he got away with out serious damage to himself.

The way he explaind it, very heavy braking but still hit the front of the car at an angle, then the bike swung round & trapped him against the car.

Ambo to the hosp, the bike has been moved to a nearby lock up, frorks bent, wheel broken & fairings smashed...

He sounded chipper enough on the phone & will let me know in due course of further actions & I will update when I know.

Frank needs to start stocking some spare limbs, Mac!

I assume that all necessary spares are already being parcelled up.

Wish him well, at least grannies are likely to be insured.

Ouch! more wonkiness strikes - Hopefully she's fessed up and or Vanstub has witnesses.

I've a spare front wheel, forks and bodywork if required (just need servicing/finishing) if frame/headstock isn't badly damaged after impact.

Good witness aparently a car waiting to come out of the junction she was turning into... Police attended, apparently took the piss a bit & said she'd probably get done for 'Due care & attention' few points & a slap on the wrist then...

Next thing of course is recovery of bike any volunteers (Tony) with a van (Tony) bike was moved by a couple of local lads who came to help (Tony) & moved it to a lock up behind a shop (Tony). This is somewher around Havering-atte-Bower which is only 30 odd miles from Kemsing...

As for spare parts an inspection requied before a decision is made...Poor sod has ben off this week & spent Monday swapping the front end off his Black one ( fitted the new motor over the Grainstorm weekend, broke the chain smashing the crankcases...Sitting under a tarp in his garden) As the forks had been tweeked. Popped over on Tues & was saying how much better it felt...

Would help but I'm at brands all weekend, an  and at a beer festival all next weekend at a steam railway, with different beers at each station. Sort of a steam crawl, I suppose.
Could do the Monday or Tuesday after that if that's any good? Around the 22nd or 23rd October.

How soon does it need shifting?

I'm not sure yet Tony, he may well have plans of his own...

I'll find out more when I next converse with him...

I'll let him know & I'm sure he's capable of speaking to you direct to sort out if he needs your help...

I'm sorry to read this Mac, although glad Vanstub isn't any worse.

Wish him well from me too,
