This was a cop who sole purpose was to keep an eye open for any obstructions, be it vehicles or pedestrians !
Only to run over an elderly woman ! Hardly a fast moving unavoidable subject.
I wonder what would happen if I did it ? I wonder what happens because it was an on duty cop ?
Same outcome I wonder ? Nope... I don't think so either :x
He was clearing the sh1t out of any obstructions. She didnt run fast enough. Her fault.

The problem is having the rules and laws to begin with. Something along the lines of the 10 commandments is all that is needed for us to be decent human beings, nothing more and nothing less as all the rest is trivial and only in place as a power trip for control and enslavement or as a revenue maker to fill the pockets of those in power or helping to bring in revenue. She probably only got knocked down because the crossing was there. If it wasn't there and she crossed anywhere it may not have happened. Our road systems would run better if all the rules where removed so people used their common sense and intelligence rather than following instructions. Maybe we are beyond that now as most folk have lost all common sense and intelligence and brainwashed into trying to follow the system. Things seem to work better in places like Thailand or India where it's all simplified. So actually the motorcycle is not even at fault, the system is at fault.
What a stupid comment!

Sorry but whilst you & me might be able to 'use their common sense and intelligence' there are far too many fekwits out there who shoudn't even be allowd to get out of bed in the morning let alone drive a ton + of lethal weapon about without any rules in place...theres enough of them out there who seem to think the rules that are there don't apply to them anyway...

Now go & do some research about road deaths in Thailand & India & come back to us...

I think it's a fair observation that removing infrastructure and rules can reduce accidents. It's not a fair comparison to highlight countries like India and Thailand although I agree though that blanket removal of rules is not going to work.

Shared spaces work well when designed well to meet the needs of the specific location. There are concerns around vulnerable users, like blind and partially sighted pedestrians, but it's all in the design from what I've seen. The problem with rules and segregation is that they create 'my space', my right of way', 'you shouldn't be here' type feelings and they can and do cause aggressive behaviour.

The proof of that particular pudding would be to see how well a UK police escort team would do escorting Killiam (Willate?) across an Indian city....
That I'd pay money to watch.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Fiendish - I can see Jeremy Clarkson devoting an episode to that

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
