Black West P3## OEW

Post by Solarboy »

Hi gents,

This is my annual look out for the first love of my bike life!

I used to own a P reg storm that was sprayed in West McLaren colours back in 1998. Like the young fool I was, I sold it and have always wondered what happened to her. If anyone knows can you let me know, I would love to see the old girl again.
Oh, this was in Suffolk but could be who knows where by now!
Thanks chaps.

Have you checked to see if it’s still registered?

I have mate, I check every year and it’s SORN in the winter and taxed in the summer. I even wrote to the DVLA on a V88 I think, asking for the location but they said no. I can’t think how else to find the location m.

Good
At least you know she’s still running and being used.
A shout out on here may well turn something up
Good luck

Just a thought
Does the MOT checker site give you any indication where it received it last MOT?

You have to enter the code from the V5 to be able to view the test location : /

I used the DVLA tax and MOT checker. I have no idea how to find the location though. However when I spoke to DVLA the year before last when I submitted the V88 the chap on the phone asked if had checked with insurance companies! I’m not sure what he was referring to but I can’t see how an insurance company is going to give me details like that....

Thanks Chris,
I’ve been looking for 3 years now, called local dealerships asking if they’ve MOT’d it but other than keep posting my annual request for the form massive to keep an eye out I’m not really sure what to do.
All help gratefully recurved.
Thanks all.

Have you any photos of the bike which you could post here and also on the VTR Facebook groups.

Do yo want to buy it back or just be reaquainted?

Hi Wicky, long time.
I would definitely consider buying it back depending on the condition but I would really like to see the old girl again.
I do have some pics at home and I’ll put a few in here later. Unfortunately I’m not on FB, I can’t bring myself to do it

Post em here and then I'll put them on the FB page to see if it jogs any memories.

Did you sell it to someone locally?

Thanks mate that’s really kind. I think I put some pictures on my thread last year when I was looking for it.
I sold it to Lings in Ipswich back in 2000/01 but from there it went to Woodbridge / Melton way. To be honest it could be who knows where by now. This is the third year I have posted a thread on the forum to try and find the old girl.
