Any of you old guys remember this race??

Post by 8541Hawk »

Found this recently during the "Was Colin any good'? and "Is an SP2 a good track bike" discussion and as I remember watching this one I though it showed both points rather well.......
That and it is almost racing season once again

Oh, I remember..

And in answer to the other questions... He was good, and still is... I bet on equal machines, he'd beat anyone posting on-line hands down, and a few of the young ones in MotoGP too...

And, the SP2 makes a very fine race bike once it's put a wee diet...

That was a great Race. I would have loved Colin to win a MotoGP race and he nearly did but fell of at the last bend. He has always had a uniquely identifiable riding stance and has always been good to watch. A true bike nut and top bloke. He went to Daytona bike week when we were there wearing a hat with hairpiece pony tail, you could tell it was him by the way he spoke though.

Probably one of the best WSB races of all time. I agree Colin Edwards can match anyone on the same machine. He's an all round Mr Nice Guy who thoroughly enjoys his job.

This is the race he should have won, Assen GP 2006, last corner fight with Nicky Hayden -

Poor quality footage but talk about so near and yet so far!!!!
