I recall a francis barnet falcon that he used to swear at quite a bit and also a Honda 250 , had box section cantilever type forks iirc ?
his brother, my uncle chris had an ariel square four (but that would be bikes my uncles had)

Thanks everyone for all the responses. Means alot to me to have people that share the same passion. Whilst we were on the subject of 'dads bikes' my dad had a motomartin cbx1000. What i wouldnt give to have that but theres more chance of finding hens teeth. Was a great bike though!

one of the best intros I've ever read, welcome to the forum andy..... :wave:
have fun getting to know the bike again, have a read thru the workshop section and give the old girl a good mechanical check up, you'd be amazed how badly some owners look after there bikes..... :roll:
