Post by Freecloud »

Ello everyone. 🙂 Am new here and new first time owner of a not new vtr. Been browsing the site for a few days now and already resolved a few minor niggles with the new toy, so thank u to all who have helped already 👍 I hope I can return the favour sometime,if not then I can only hope to entertain by joining in with the banter and lending some moral support, looking forward to making new friends.

Welcome to you! Nice to see people still coming along. Someone else will probably ask so I may as well.. have you sorted the ccts on it? If not, search the site. Few quid well spent or next thing you know I will be having a courier picking up the bike from you for 300 quid

I am pretty sure others will agree there is no such thing as "uprated auto tensioners" so don't put any trust in that.
Timebomb.
Anyway...thats the crappy bit. This forum is a brilliant place for all things Firestorm...or superchicken if that is your thing or SC36 if you are that way inclined....or VTR 1000f if you are that way inclined. Welcome! ( I am not currently drunk)

Thanks, I've done a bit, and I mean, a little bit, of research and was aware of the (time bomb) aspect but figured what the hell, just couldn't say no to it 😂

Don't treat this as a technical question, more a general inquiry, I understand the (time bomb) thing, and will have my cct's sorted this winter, but no one seems to mention the chains themselves, are they indestructible and only need the tensioners sorting or do they need replacing too at some point?
