Thanks! I started in Hampshire and did live as far north as Manchester once. Didn't like it much. Although I swear it rains more in West Devon than it does in Manchester...

Welcome, lots of great advice and help on here along with the workshop knowledge. Your post is weird in that my first big? Bike was a 3ta, all 18.5hp, later t90'd and blown up. I also chopperised it with a purple tank, 6" slugs and rigid rear struts 😬We knew what we was doing in 71!

Ah, you might have but I certainly didn't ;-)

Was it really 18.5hp? I reckon most of mine had gone missing when I started out, but things definitely improved over time. Junking that horrible classic rear wheel cowling saved a lot of weight for a start. And getting it painted purple was another 5hp for sure. I didn't go as far as you, though, with the suspension. I might have done had I known what I was doing :lol:
