New member from Northern Ireland with Wicky's old bike

Post by iainers »

Hi everyone, I'm Iain and I am the new owner of Wicky's old Firestorm. I know a lot of you were good friends with John and I am planning to get the bike back on the road. Does anyone know any history on the bike, mods etc. I have already the fairing off and away to be sprayed and was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of a decal that I could put on in John's memory? Would like to add something to the bike as I for one will be looking at plenty of his previous posts for help and advice.

Look after it, and treat it well, for it is the only part of John we have left.

welcome to the forum, and thanks for looking after Johns bike for him

a sticker would be a great addition ...... if only Wicky was here, he would design and make them for us. :(

@budd .... can you do some stickers for us if we have a design?

hope to see you next year when a few of us from the mainland come over late summer and encourage the locals to meet up for a Race / ride

Isn't that so true

Great to hear from you Iain, really happy you have got John's old bike and that you are getting her back up to scratch

The only mod's I can think of is ones you can already see, and that'll be the handlebar risers and lowered foot pegs, manual CCT's (cam chain tensioners) modified seat/seat cover iirc, the Moriwaki end cans and Ohlins shock,

Chris.
