My 2 into 1 project now with dyno print out
Re: My 2 into 1 project now with dyno print out
Nicely done
Just curious as to what you ended up doing with the collector and diameter of the link pipe and can you used.
FWIW, I ran a similar set-up (link mated up to collector cut shortly after where pipes join) up. I used a 98 R1 Blue Flame twin-port high-mount can and link pipe (52mm IIRC). The results I got were a very, very slight increase in peak power (@ 0.5 bhp) but a drop in overall torque (@ 2 lb-ft ) with a significant dip in the curve between 4800-6500 rpm.

Re: My 2 into 1 project now with dyno print out
the link pipe is 48mm in side and 52mm od so the pipes is 2mm thick .
the can is a 52mm in and 52mm out , the can is a scorpion race can and is 50mm longer than the other cans i had ..
all i did to the headers is remove the out lets section . this gave me a nice big 48mm od pipe to connect my link pipe up to.
and i cleaned up the welds on the in side of the collects where it meets the engine , but i havent fitted the modified rear down pipe so the welds are still there on the fitted one .

looks a bit rich on the A/F, theres another couple of ponies in there with some more dyno time....
When subjected to an electrical voltage of at least 50 volts, a cat's tail always points toward the north.

It's going to run well when you get the jetting fixed

Re: My 2 into 1 project now with dyno print out
Seems that the restriction in the standard system is from the collector back....
Which is very good news, as a big bore exhaust will give good results.......
Mind you, doesn't the printout show 136Bhp at 10,002 rpm?
What on earth happened there?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

When he hit the limiter it spiked lol .
Yep the rear splitter is very restrictive .
I was thinking about making a bigger bore split link pipe to fit on to the 2-1 headers so to turn it back into a 2-1-2 but without the restriction . But that can wait till next year

Modified my other headers today in to a 2-1 .i just need to get a new rear down pipe to collector gasket before I can fit them .
And when I modified these I got a nice clean cut with a smaller cutting disc .
So now I have the rear collector in one piece now I can take that to the exhaust shop (when funds are better) to use as a template for a bigger bore section . But have it removable so I swap and change between the two .
The other 2-1 headers will be up for sale next week after they have been sand blasted
