Duffy's Streetfighter Project

Post by Duffy1964 »

After purchasing a 2000 storm project in May and writing off my yellow 1997 storm thanks to a BMW X5 driver I finally decided to use the best parts of the two bikes and build a practical streetfighter.

I have a 2003 blue storm which is my main bike, but wanted higher bars without cutting fairings ect, I also wanted to keep the blue one fairly standard as it is quite a clean bike.

The streetfigter will be an ongoing and long winded project due to the fact I work shifts and have diy house projects a BSA Bantam trials bike project and all other sorts of ideas going on so please be patient.

The main aim is to use a standard storm motor & frame with a 954 blade front end with cnc top yoke and renthals, high level cans and satin black frame with ford st electric orange wheels and bodywork :)

I want this to be a bike I can enjoy and still butt about on to and will be used mainly for work and non motorway long hauls as the blue one will be used for that.

I have collected a few bits so far and Carl helped me pull it all apart so thought it was a good time to start.

Here are a few photos

Cheers guys, I hope it will look as good as I have imagined it to be like.

Yep well pleased with the paint Marty, the guy used a plasisizer in with the paint incase anyting flexes, and said its better than powder coating as it wont craze or crack

The ST Electric Orange is fantastic and changes as you move it to different shades, was gonna do them black, but sprayer said it would look boring with the frame all looking the same.

I am well pleased he talked me into doing them the same as the bodywork & tank :)

Are you doing the bodywork Orange as well then. White Bodywork would go very well with them wheels an d the Black frame.

Not a VTR but imagine something like this.

No Carl, Tank & plastics are gonna be ST Electric Orange same as wheels mate and without fairings as its a Streetfighter.

Not a fan of white bikes as they are almost as bad as slow red ones
