Hi Duffy.

Just read this thread on your VTR fighter. Firstly, sorry to hear about your sister's news and, like others, sincere best wishes to you and your family.

The project's looking great and I'm really liking the fact that you're paying attention to the finer details such as engine and frame finishes. You're about to embark on one of the biggest hassles of building a naked VTR - the cooling. What a bugger of a task. You'll have similar issues to the one I faced - USD forks make it bloody difficult (nigh on impossible) to fit a decent cooling system in the tradition place under the headstock. My side mount rad was a good solution and I managed to get some fans to fit too, but I've never been 100% happy with the look of it. So I'm keen to see if you can find a tidier solution that I might pinch off you.

Hope to see you back on the project soon.

Thanks Scubadog, I don't think it will be a patch on your fine example but yours was the one that inspired my project.

The cooling part has worried me for a while if I'm honest as I don't like the radiator on the side of fighters in the usual position.

I am going to lower the oil cooler as others have done and I have heard the SV1000 rad fits but not sure it will with the blade front end.

I intend to play over autumn and winter in the man cave once things get back to normal.

Hey, I'm really looking forward to seeing it finished. It'll be at least as good as Tango and, in many respects, better. End of the day it'll be exactly how you envisage it, and that's all it needs to be, right? Happy to help in any way I can.
