Took a few photos before. Used wd40 but needs more work. Front cylinder has flaky paint hence the post for engine paint tips :)

I will paint the engine cases and rocker cover gloss black when the engine is in the frame as a rolling chassis
But that may take a while

good work Duffy.

I tried to colour match the silver grey so I didn't need to do the whole engine to fix a few areas of corrosion. I didn't get a perfect match, but once its in the bike you cant tell so its good enough, but I still know its bodged. I wish I had done it like you have and done the whole engine

Watch out he's flirting again.

All the hard work is worth it for the feel good factor of seeing it done properly. What product did you use to paint it?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Yep that's the stuff Wicky, has a satin type finish. My mate has just got a CB 650 F and his engine is a similar colour in a black frame and I liked the look of it, so this was the closest I could find.

I know what you mean Al but it's a pain if your just touching up, but I made the effort as its a total re build, so glad it did it as the flaking paint would have bugged me in the long run

Started to fit new linkage bearings today, got them all out but the realised I could only find 2 roller bearings, so had to order the other two

Taped up the wiring loom and cleaned up all the connector blocks.

Sat the frame on the engine ready to fit, but noticed im the centre bolt is missing/lost in the Duff cave

But it's still good progress, even if it's a bit long winded
