I know there are more budget ones available. Going to be doing a couple of track days on it though so wanted something better but not the mental expensive of Ohlins, etc.

Hopefully get it fitted soon.

Well on the plus side..... it would be hard to find a shock that is worse than the original.
You will have to let me know what it’s like having a rear wheel on a VTR :D

It was going so well. Took the swingarm out to check bearings and the ones in the rear cushion are knackered. Half of them fell out, the remains are pretty much welded into the cushion, so needs to replace it. Have put a post in the wanted section to see if anyone has anything.

Got the swingarm back in, new chain and sprocket fitted and exhausts back on. Just the cushion needed so I can get the rear suspension put back together, then I can start getting it ready for MOT.

So it's back together and rideable now, albeit not road legal. Rode it down to the dead end on my street and back just to see how it was. All seems good. Now just some indicators and put bodywork on.

Then just a case of insurance, MOT and tax!

The cosmetic tidy up can wait!Image

Just about there. Waiting on a sidelight and mirrors arriving. Also need to find a couple of screws for intake panels, but that's easy enough.

Picture of it the day I got it and then today with just the front section of cowling, screen and mirrors to do.

Cheers

Thought I'd got the screws to finish top fairing, but apparently not.

Fowlers website says I need 4 of a particular screw for inner ducts and panels. I was sure from fiche I needed 6. Turns out I needed 10! So fiche is wrong! Also didn't realise I didn't have the 4 headlight bolts.

So got a few other bits done like new reg plate, seat cowl, checked new mirrors fitted OK and checked lots of bolts were tightened properly.

Got it together together enough so it's now MOT'd and taxed!! Just waiting on rest of screws to arrive to fully complete top cowl and screen.....

Finished! MOT'd, taxed and ready to go. Still a few wee things I want to do, but there always will be. Full cosmetic tidy up can wait until next winter!

If these storms would finish (pun intended), I could get out on it!
