VTR ownership diary by The Lens

Post by thelens »

well Ive just bought my first accessory ever for the VTR :D
Only a shock sock, but an important part in my view.
I noticed the bike already has a sort of mudflap to protect the rear suspension so I figured a sock would protect it and keep it like new.
Much better than a wheel hugger would do :D
My wants list is growing all the time, so I thought I would use here, to keep a VTR ownership diary of sorts.
Not much of a pimp me ride lol but its a start !

Shock sock will trap moisture and rust your spring, if left could cause the shock shaft to corrode too.. Fine if you like them but need taking off regular to dry out and clean under, not easy to remove once fitted on some bikes.. I have to disagree with you in that a hugger works fairly well, and it's easy to reach in to the shock with a rag and give it a wipe. also some huggers protrude below the arm to protect the shock linkage too, these ones are best

+1 for rear wheel hugger

plus brush/wipe over with ACF-30 over the shock esp over winter.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
