I've got some if you need some. Almost popped by today but had to get to the hospital. I keeping forgetting it gets dark when I go out in the morning with my dark visor :cool2
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

You almost popped?
Why the deadline of today???

Remember not to drink so much lager with an excessively large curry.

Thanks for the offer, I picked up some of this before I saw your message Image

Pleased to say, I now have manual CCT's fitted :) Image

But I might have to remove carbs to get that darn bit of plastic round the front carb behind the headstock, then I can properly fit my frame Image

Getting there :)

Good work  and yes you will have to remove the carbs to put the plastic cowl on. Slide into the frame at the front and then it pops down around the carb inlet.

Thanks

Good luck FireSpook though you wont need it if following the guide. The worst after the inspection caps have been removed is making sure the cam cover rubber gaskets are sitting right and tightening up the cam cover bolts. Don't over tighten these bolts as they can snap easily.

hi carl, this might sound stupid but what are the correct alan key sizes for the generaton and inspection covers ,my standard 6 and 10 sockets seem very loose are these 7 and 11 or are my covers just well butchered.the rest of the job seems prity straight forward after I get these things shifted cheers

That's normal, your covers are knackered. The small one's made of steel and it will not round out, the larger one's made of used washing up liquid left to harden in the sun and will round off all by itself on a windy day.

The centre cap is a size 10 allen key.

To remove a seized or rounded off centre cap use a blowtorch/heat, centre punch and hammer. Heat the area first and then using the centre punch and hammer tap around the edge of the cap and it should work loose. It may take a few good hits to get it moving. When positioning the centre punch... come in from the outside edge a few mm, so don't tap right on the edge as the cap is lipped with the thread inside the outer circumference a little.

A big thanks for the time and effort you've put into this. I've fitted mine today and couldn't of done it without this thread and Watty being kind enough to loan me his printed copy of it. 8)
