Charging problem solved fingers crossed

Post by Rlong »

Today is a good day, after months of having charging and starting problems with the battery dying on me I think I may have solved it. The three pin connector which joins the stator output was corroded on the back side where it joins the loom. I have made up three wires and run these directly from stator o/p to the rectifier. Now voltage is reading 14.75 at the battery, and the voltage no longer drops to 12 or under when under load from lights etc. hope this saves anyone else hours of head scratching . And the sun is out. I'm off for a blast.ride safe .

The Stator often gets overlooked when testing the Regulator Rectifier.

The voltage reading is now good, so fingers crossed you've cured the problem
