Post by gwaynewk »

Currently on ebay are GOLD-fren Sintered Front Brake pads for both sets £26-66, has anyone got any knowledge of them, good or bad etc

Thanks Paul :Beer Popcorn:

I have always used EBC HH and found them good (on the storm, blade and gsxr).

I never believed in the more expensive pads, but I had warped discs so upgraded to waveys and bought the expensive brembo pads (the race / fast road type as opposed to brembo road).

I gotta say the difference is night and day. I cant quite believe how much better they feel. Initial bite is sharp and strong. On track they felt so much stronger than the old pads.

Also they dont have that strange sound that EBC pads make which is nice :)

Brembo or std Honda, I still like the bite of the brembo, but for the price std Honda take a lot of beating

I've gone through 3 sets of EBC HH sintered since last summer, scored a set of SBS pads just before my track day for about 16 quid, imo when the SBS pads are hot they are incredible, a cut above EBC, but when cold the EBC pads are consistent and strong.

EBC = great road pads

SBS = great fast road/track pads.

Imo!

Yet to try Honda pads, but plenty of good feedback on here about them, so I'll try them next :)

I have Gold Fren race pads, they were ok new but now not so much.

Are SBS pads a brand name pad?

Thanks very much, I will probably go for EBC as I had those on a Bandit and they worked
