Full Moriwaki Stage 1 Engine

Post by gl_s_r »

Full Moriwaki Stage 1 Engine:

I’m just about to pull an engine out my bike frame that I put in but has never started or run. As soon as it is out it will be for sale.

It is effectively brand new with spec as follows and built by Roger Ditchfield who I originally bought it from.

Complete Moriwaki Stage1 rebuilt engine
Specification:
New main bearings
New big end bearing
New piston rings
Newly honed bores
New valve guide oil seals
New oil seals, all engine gaskets and oil filter
New CCTs
New oil pump
New gearbox selector forks, selector fork shafts & gearbox bearings
New Moriwaki Stage1 camshafts c/w Kent slotted camshaft wheels
Ported & Gas flowed cylinder heads.
Balanced Crankshaft
Polished OEM valves
11.6 : 1 Racing Hi Comp Pistons
Lightened flywheel
Modified crankcases

As anyone knows it is rare to get had these items separate let alone in one build and in a brand new condition.

I will be asking for £2200 for the engine which may sound a lot but when you break it down to parts, gaskets etc and labour costs for some of the work such as porting and balancing etc it really isn’t and you know by the builder this one has been done properly.

This is probably the only chance you will have to buy an engine with these items and spec as the parts really are that rare.

Any questions please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer.
Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?

He's joined a weight watchers group.

OMG it's a tease when stuff like this is posted. I'm thinking...shall I, should I, shall I, should I. Nah it's a lot of money for a lot of engine I will never get to use to it's full potential and I would most likely end up loosing my license or worse. Not enough open camera free roads around here. :( I want another bike so need to keep saving my money rather than spend. Now if I could put wings on my bike and would take off I may consider it.

Then again I could get one of these. :D

It’s been really time consuming the last few years with various bits in the background including family illness and change of jobs etc. The bikes have been a very distant memory but there is hopefully a little light in the background with things.

The bitsa build was nearly finished apart from plumbing etc and a few iggly/jiggly things but is now coming back apart as an opportunity come along I couldn’t refuse and will also be the basis of another build.

This is why this engine is now for sale as it is pointless me keeping it as it’ll be sitting there doing nothing as I won’t have a frame or anything to put it in and I’d rather someone else have the delight of owning a bit of brand new Mori merchandise... and get the bhp they want in a proper fashion.

It’s a shame really as if you had to buy it and worth labour involved it’s a very cheap alternative to finding the parts and then building it up.

Anyway, I’m hopefully turning a bit of a corner now in life and should be around a little more now... at least I’ll be making an effort to anyway.

Be good to be back in he fold...
