1998 VTR1000F F-W in yellow For Sale

16,655 miles (yes, really) supported by paperwork. Owned since 2013 when I swapped my Vmax for it and grinned all the way home.

Good service history. MOT until February 2019. Last service was Feb 2017 but it hasn't gone anywhere really so you won't have to do much.

Datatagged.

Fairing lowers.

Stainless steel Micron exhaust (sounds great).

Pilot Road 3 tyres have done 2,000 non-heroic miles and have loads of life left.

Manual cam chain tensioners as supplied by a splended fellow on here.

Braided lines.

Hyperpro fork springs, Odyssey gel battery, carbon-look hugger, fender extenda, grab rail, extra flap under the plate to keep mud off the rear. Rectifier replaced a couple of years ago.

Analogue clock, extra loud horn (fitted only one horn of a pair, as there isn't much room and no need for a relay).

Comes with Oxford battery trickle charger, baffles for fussy MOT testers (not fitted as my tester is a lovely man), pillion cover, original seat grab strap, owner manual, tool kit, Haynes manual.

Lots of pics https://flic.kr/s/aHskvgA2j4

What's wrong with it?

Dent in the left of the tank around the badge (not that easy to see) and the paint isn't broken. See pic.

Fairing damage (it's well hidden where the upper joins the lower). If you look very carefully in the right light, the lower look a very slightly different shade of yellow, most people don't notice.

The Cornish salt worms have got to the cans and some alloy like the hangers, maybe you could polish it out, maybe carbon skins for the cans, and powdercoat the hangers. The grab rail bracket is a bit rusty where it goes under the seat (the pillion cover rubbed the paint off, I think), bit of paint will sort it. Scrapes on the mirror backs.

Paint is flaking off the wheels (come on it's 20 years old and ridden in the wet, whaddya want?)

Charger plug needs changing as it has an iffy connection. I bought some new plugs and can't find them...

Also comes with the following extras, you can take away some, all or none of these included in the price:

Rear wheel turning thing (see pic).
Unopened oil.
Original horn plus the second unfitted horn, plus relay.
Ulock (fits under seat, see pic)
Covered cable lock (see pic)
Various disklocks.
Unopened Maplin USB socket with weather cover.
Baffles

Reluctant sale as I don't have time to ride it (3,500 miles in 4.5 years), need the space in the garage (which needs a new roof). Needs to go to a good home and someone who will give it the attention it deserves. Hurry up and buy it before I change my mind as this will be the first time in 33 years that I won't own a bike and will probably not own one again...

£1,500.

Nice chap came this afternoon and I now have a Firestorm shaped space in the garage. First time I haven't had a bike in 33 years or so. It was quite emotional 😢

Anyway, so long guys and thanks for the advice over the years. You might like to know I put it on eBay with a reserve of £1,099 which is exactly what it went for.
