"Steering Damper Wanted"
Hello again everyone...im back! haha.
I've just acquired another VTR after building one with a sssarm conversion and one off exhaust many years ago (well documented on here!).
Is anyone selling a working steering damper and fitting kit to suit this bike? I don't want to spend £££'s as I only paid £995 for the whole bike...but after many trackdays on my 954rr in the last two years, fitted with an ohlins damper, this storm feels too light and unsafe!!!
Based in Cheshire so can collect if local or happy to cover reasonable p+p costs.
It's good to be back and can't wait to put some miles on this new storm .
Cheers guys

There is a Chinese one you can get for a few quid. Maybe 40. Otherwise i think they are hard enough to come by. However there is a VTR being parted out on donedeal.ie and it appears to have a damper fitted.

Postage wouldn't be that much but I do not know what make it is.

If you don't try you never know if you can do it.

Push the forks back to where they should be (small circlips ring level with top of the clipons) and remove the spacer fitted between the top shock mount and the frame.
These are long, low bikes and shouldn't feel slappy at all. Check tyre pressures.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I've just messaged the guy in Ireland and asked if it's available and can he post? Cheers for the link.

Re: VTR Firestorm Steering damper
It could just be me being used to my fireblade and the fact I have it set up stiff for track use and the damper on pretty hard!? It's going to be strange getting back on a storm for the first time in years but I'm sure I'll get on with it once I nail the throttle
