Starter cable.

Post by MacV2 »

I'm after a starter cable. Condition is not important as I only need the terminals...

Yes you can buy them new but over £40 with both boots inc...

I can find the ring terminals new but not the terminal that connects to the relay...Plus as is the way of the world you need a special crimping tool.

So I want to try removing the terminals from a spare cable & reusing them on a nice bit of new starter cable...(£7 P/M from me local motor factors...& yes the old one is just over a metre... 1107mm infact...

How hard can it be ?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I'll take both chaps no need to fight over it...

As you know I have more than one Storm...

If I can get the old crimps off & more to the point re-crimp on to a nice new cable then all will be well in MacCave land...

I have a plan but it requires a sacrificial cable.

If all goes well I'll look into buying a reel of Marine grade starter cable & offering up an exchange service...

Fab's & Freeride will be at the head of the que...

Yeah seen that Wicky... Thought I'd try on here first. As is typical I'm sure Frank had one & I did get him to rake through his hoard...Alas his rakeing was to no avail...must of sold it at some part...

Also seen this...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ES-25-Honda- ... 0033.m2042

I had a plop on the mat today...Laid a cable through the letter box...

It was addressed to 'Lord Mac of Grain.' Feindishly packed with lashings of tape, duct & sticky...Easily defeated with a blade !

I'm assuming it came from not so sunny NI...If so then Thank You Mr Fabiostar... If not Cheers Nick & wheres the one you said you posted Fabio...?

There covered all the bases I think...
