These two pictures show why I wanted to make the new hugger. The original one (on the right) is the wrong shape and has been rubbed through by the tyre. The chainguard is fully open on the inside so all of the road sh*t from the tyre is dumped straight onto the chain, and similarly any excess chail lubricant could be flicked onto the tyre.
The new hugger has a 'U' section chainguard as per the original 'Storm unit.

After the first smooth & polish:

It just needs some very small reshaping, a little bit of welding and another good polish!

Well done. It's good to see some skills put to good use, as opposed to just buying gofaster bits and bolting them on.

Tank next?

:D
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

   Very talented. I'll be asking you to knock out the dents in my van

I like it. Would you think some cutouts in the chain guard may enhance the effect??

I was toying with the idea of cutting the 'VTR' logo into the sides, but was too desperate to start using the bike again.

Maybe next winter......

I'm still confused why you would expect to have an English wheel in NZ

Nice skills

That looks fantastic. It makes me realize how talented other people are and just how truly lazy I am.
