Quick action throttle.

Post by uk13iker »

Does the HRC throttle tube do the same job as the domino ones that are around £120-150?
And if so is this the correct item? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 0752530363
Thanks.

The HRC one is 1/6th turn. I think the Domino ones are 1/4. So yes and no.

There are 1/4 turn tubes available for peanuts so don't waste money on a flash after market one. The SP tube is a 1/4 turn I think.

Domino come with three different options for the cable spool, the first a bit quicker than std, the Middle one quite a lot quicker than std and the largest is like a light switch and really only suitable for track use.

You have to factor in new cables as well....

I fitted one to the sp2 recently. Middle option works well for me. I used the xml and universal cable set, check with them before ordering as I don't know if that will also work on a Storm.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

HRC tube works very well (been running mine for well over 5 years now) but it will take you pretty well right to the end of your cable adjustment range. They can be had quite cheaply on eBay

There is a HRC tube that some folks use though I don't have that p\n
The other option that has been used is the RC45 tube though I'm not sure if it is 1\5 or 1\6 turn. The P\N for that is 53140-MR7-000

RC45 is 1/5 turn IIRC. For the HRC unit, just do a search on eBay, they are virtually always avail there...

IIRC the RC45 is 1/5 of a turn, and the HRC is 1/6 of a turn.

According to KarlosVTR (link below) the part number for the HRC throttle tube is:- 53141-MT7-000
