I'm new to the VTR, I've mostly had 600 or 750 four's but I'm liking it. Really flexdible and easy to go fast on...perhaps too easy.

Hi guys well I've owned kawka vn 1500, v Max, dragsters 1100 & 650 ,Viragos, honda shadow,xj900,Suzuki gs850 and have used them a lot then cut them up to make trikes or chops. but this is my first storm & oh boy I love it so I think I will always keep a storm in my garage to use it has the pull ,grunt & sound .the mileage might not be the best but them miles are bloody good fun (each to there own)

Not had my second storm for very long ( wrote the first one off 13 years ago ! :redface ) loving it so much that I'm thinking about buying another one to use as a work horse over the winter ! so definately won't ever be parting with this one !

I really enjoy riding my Storm, easy going and brisk, never seems stressed, it just lollops along, unlike my zx6r trackbike that revs like fook and I think it's got to blow at some point, but it's got to the time of yr again where I start looking at enduro/traily/transalps etc for winter, but tbh the storm is such a narrow bike I think a trailey could squeeze in't shed besides her......... 8O

It's been 5 months now since kermit left my care and tbh I haven't missed it in general.

Maybe it's because I have piggy waiting in the wings , but I don't know .
The bird and I just fit .6k in 5 months ,that's a new record for me .
Especially as I've barely even tinkered with it . Just got on and road it :-) .
I know one thing for sure ,after piggy is finished I won't be building any more "specials" again .

I've had two, would have kept the last one, but the tank range was killing me, I sometimes look at Fleabay at storms, and I would like to get another but I wouldn't want it as a work bike.

I do miss mine, especially when trickling along in town at speed limits.
The SP2's fuel injection is very jerky at those revs and loads.

But I don't miss the constant maintenance I earned by tuning it to the point of unreliability

But I can't sit here chatting, must dash up to the garage to change the indicators on the 2, oh, and reset the operation start point for the quickshifter, and lube the chain.....Hmmm.
Not much less time spent in the garage after all.....

Anyway, Storminghonda, they're a road bike, the short cut across the tank range would be better suited to an off road bike, (or a Harley, as they're a similar weight to a tank..... )
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

The Harley is actually pretty good on petrol, costs about £13 to fill up and you get around 110 miles out the tank.

The problem was never the fuel range, it was that it just didn't do the job as a bike to work and back with.

If I had another it wouldn't be for work use, the only other problem is that I'm now quite smitten with the Honda X 11, I am on my second one which I have had over a year now and would not part with, its a great bike.

Yes I do :(, why? Narrow, nimble, light, torqey and more smiles per mile than you can shake a stick at! Yes I know! You told me so! Should have " flat bar'd " it and kept it

I did, so sold the TRX850 and bought another Storm!
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

Just bought mine and can't see myself selling anytime soon.

I still consider myself in going for a BMW S1000XR next all the whilst keeping the 'Storm.

Of course there is no such thing as a perfect bike and if I had the asking price for a brand new 2017 model, I wouldnt be on a Storm but as a quality secondhand buy on a budget, they are hard to beat so ill be keeping the storm for quite some time yet I think.
