how long will the old girl last?

Post by JohnnyB »

Hi guys,
I'm up to 35k miles on my 98 'storm. it now needs the front and rear supension sorting. I did a trackday on her couple of weeks ago and although I had a real blast, the saggyness really showed through. I'm happy to throw a few quid at it if the rest of the bike can last.

She's completely stock, regualrly serviced an runs great so she's a keeper. Will I get another 30k out of the motor (I would have though 60k is reaaonable before anything major needs doing?) or should I be looking for another one to put on the bench and fettle in readiness for a swap. Clutch, gearbox ccts etc are all behaving well.

One trackday apart, she doesn't get a very hard life, I tend to short shift and do the lazy V twin thing rather than nail it everywhere.

Thanks all

Excluding track day use, this may answer your question
