Centre Cap - Alternator Cover

Post by Boubepo »

Bazza's CCT's have arrived [fine looking CCT's they are too] so the first job in the New Year is to get them fitted. My understanding is the centre cap on the alternator cover is like butter, so I'm guessing it's best to get a replacement in before I attempt the job.

Is there any alternative to the original centre cap? Hopefully once it's fitted I won't need to remove it, so a replacement made of butter will probably do but I'd rather have something a little stronger if one is available?

So my question - where can I get a replacement centre cap/bolt? Either an original or something stronger.

Thank you
Bou

Get a titanium or a stainless one if he's still got any left from gl_s_r, otherwise have a bog standard OEM one on hand and just apply some grease when putting it back in.

Speak to gl_s_r (Mark) http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 60#p204830 about some nice Titanium ones. Hopefully your wont be sized in place, but it's not uncommon

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Sorry but just been busy at work and not had a lot of time outside of it.

I don't have any left and was going to make some but the winter rush hasn't died down enough yet to give me the chance to get them done.

If your really stuck you can have mine from my bike but the main one is slightly different as it had to be different from everyone else's... I think its actually better looking and lighter.

Let me know and sorry for the delay getting back to you.
Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?
