mirror extenders

Post by bsabloke »

I have made mirror extenders, from aluminium bar. 50mm extensions, but coud be made any length. it bolts into the housing, using the existing bolt. then 1 additional bolt, to refit the mirror to the extender. i have tried them for a couple of months, no problems at all. improved vison. no drilling to mirrors, so can be removed at any time. just remove from bike for painting. a fellow forum member will post pictures.
not for everyone i'm sure. but for those interested an option.
i thought 50mm may be too much, but possibly 75mm would be ok. i will make a set & let you know how they are.

they do look better than the usual chunky blocks under the mirror mount - well done

not putting mirrors on mine when it goes back together btw - im using a rear facing camera and lcd screen above the clocks
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

i have thought about this but what got me stumped was you need some way of reversing the image other wise when you look at the screen at the left you will be looking behind you to the right if that make sense :confused

i may countersink the mirror arm. this will allow me to conceal the bolt head. i am a bit loathed to modify the mirror. i will check on the size of the head of the bolt required. it may look better done, especially when extenders are painted.
keep you updated.
i will check with the chap machining for me. may be able to make some sets for anybody interested. prices to follow.
