VTR Firestorm magazine road review?

Post by TheGingerBeardMan »

Just wondering, (after having seen a reference to an SP2 review in a bike mag), if there has been any proper road-test articles in any bike mags for the Firestorm?

I have shed-loads of magazines on my coffee table (nearly a hundred) and haven't found a single review or "road test" in any of them.

Practical Sportsbike - nowt
Classic Bike Mechanics - nowt
Ride - nowt
Bike - nowt
2 wheels - nowt
Bike Rider - nowt

I know the Storm is not really a "classic" as yet, or if it ever will be (future discussion/thread?), but if anyone knows of a back issue magazine where someone did a decent review of the Storm, then by all means, let me know.

Cheers muchly, thanks and ta.

Many thanks for that - Although I do have quite a few RIDE magazines amongst the others, I don't have that issue.

It's a bit difficult to see in the front cover pic what the issue number is, but going by the date of the posts, I searched for the mag under November 2013.

I looked on eBay and Amazon. Can't see one.

I have saved the pic, and will see if I can track a copy down. Preferably from a NON Firestorm owner, as I know that if the magazine comes from a previous Storm rider, the pages will either be missing (ripped out and sellotaped on his bedroom wall) or (shudders at the thought) physically stuck together.

Murky Buckets!

(That's French y'know for thanks very much)

To be honest you will learn more on here about the bike in 10 minutes than reading the article.

No don't waste your cash I thought it was a waste of print...

IIRC even though they spoke to several owners they still got some of the info wrong.

Ah well, that's a bit of a sod then huh?

I had another look at the link you guys sent, and it appears to be from an owners point of view article.

What I'm after is a bike mag with an actual road test or pre launch article/review.

Y'know, sorta like: "new test coming up in next months mag for the launch of Hondas new VTR Firestorm"

Which would put the magazine back into the mid 1990s. Surely to cripes there is a bike mag out there that did a preview/test ride on one?

Call me anally retentive (but don't call me early in the morning), but it's for me folder of VTR stuff. Already got the sales brochure from late 1999, and thought the bike mag with the pre-release road test would be complimentary to me other bits.

Heavy sigh! I'll save me pennies then. :(

Keep your eye out on E-bay then, there are always people selling the odd old mag with a specific article in it hoping a gullibal twa...I mean an enthusiast, will part with their hard earned cash for it.
