anxiety

Post by tony.wilde1 »

hi all.havent had a storm for 4 years.and on thursday going to look at one in sittingbourne kent, itll be my 4th storm if i get it.i have just a few pics and the details to look at and it all seems fine, however, its had 10 owners, and its 18 years old but has just 27k miles.the guy bought it last december and then he had a skiing accident which rendered him unable to ride.it had a major service 1000miles ago so it seems great.it was bought by him from crowborough east sussex.i wouldnt mind trying to track down a few of those ten owners before thursday to see whats happened with it in that time.then number starts.P938...any ideas anyone please?cheers. :D

It's not uncommon for these bikes to have many po as most don't get on with them a bit of a marmite bike .
So best to give it a good going over and check the mileage on the old mots

+1 as long as everything checks out OK I don't see it being a big deal. Now 10 owners on a 2 year old bike I'd be worried 8O . Good luck

as the guys have said, 10 owners is nothing really, make sure all the paperwork tally's up, and it's hpi cat c/d clear....
as you've had 3 in the past, it's not worth us advising on what to look for....
I hope it's a good'un mate.

If you get the Reg number and the document reference number off the V5 Reg doc, Go to directgov.com/mot you can do a mot history check which will give details of every previous mot inc mileage, So you can check the mileage and make sure it goes up gradual and also it has not failed on anything serious in the past

Are you riding it back ? If you buy it .
Make sure the bike is dry when you look at it as water hides bad paint very well
