chinese fairings any one

Post by chaz »

having had 3 storms in the past, I miss them.

Ive been keeping one of the local lads storm running but its in need of tidying up. as he now wants a car and we have one spare, looks like I might do a swap. question is , the plastics are shot. Ive looked on ebay and there is a bit of this and a bit of that, its going to cost a respray as well . SO, found these on the bay, Im a bit wary about buying from China but they are injection moulded ABS not plastic.

I do think they look good.

However most of the people I've heard of buying them have complained about the fitment. However in the other hand fairings are hard to come by in good condition.

I suppose for the money they're good!

It's a lottery. Some fit all good. Some are good to cut into strips and use as cable ties

Jist a case of suck it and see

If it were me. I wouldn't touch em. And spend the money on a spray job. If you're having a tart up they will only need a dust over which is cheap as

spray over isn't an option, front mudguard has a 6inch crack in, right hand side fairing has fixing hole broken out to around 25mm dia, generally scratches and cracks or lumps out of nearly all pieces. just thinking for £250 , its what replacement or repairs would cost then there is different finishes and textures, even then most fixing lugs would probably be cracked. think Im talking myself into it

Chaz,
One of our forum members "Seb" got a set from the link below that he was very pleased with, the only trouble is this seller from China appears to be no longer selling them.
On the off chance, it might be worth trying a message through ebay to them. It might just be he's using a different outlet on ebay now.

Good luck,

Chris.

Buddy you are nearly talking me into it instead of a respray. If you get them please let us know how you get on with fitment

Try these. Maybe an option fibre glass done right will be stringer and hold its shame better that's if they've used the right resin

If the link doesn't take uoi to the vtr1000 page go to 'road / race parts' then. 'honda' then obviously the bike

From personal experience, bought a set to go on the Legends SP1. A little bit of fettling to get them to fit though nothing major.
Paint finish was bang on but don`t expect oem quality on the material used.
On the whole, well pleased and I would happily buy another set should the need arise.
Hope this helps.
