Re: A new Addition
Wouldn't mind having a go on that
I used to have a XJ550 back in the day. It'd be fun to see how they compare or not as would probably be the case

Its very nippy, and quiet, has a power band about 7k, which is where I was most ofPete.L wrote:Wouldn't mind having a go on that

sunday trying to keep up with steves storm
It defo wont replace a storm for them loverly welsh roads,
But it did handle well, wet and dry( with Bridgestone BT021s), suspension was ok, and was comfy, the seat was grippy, a little too grippy !
The thing I liked the most was that I didn't ache after my 200 plus mile trip,
so overall a fun experience, but I think will be kept in future for smaller run outs
and the odd commute !

Re: A new Addition
Sounds great. I put about 40 odd k on my old xj in about 2 1/2 years. It was pretty bullet proof but I'd swear it had a chassis made out of elastic and it was dead easy to tie the forks in knots if you got too aggressive with the brakes
I did everything on it though and went everywhere from Lands End to Edinburgh without a hitch, other than a clutch cable snapping in Birmingham on one trip whilst on the way to Newcastle. Didn't let that stop me though and still rode it the rest of the way
Very fond memories of the old girl. I hope your new one does you proud
A serious little commuter with all day touring capability I reckon
