exhaust baffle (DB Killers) help

Post by flybaby »

I got a set of laser oval system cans and recently bought the DB killers to go inside. Reduces the level a tiny bit but still too loud for road. They sound great but would like to be able to reduce for some road use and take out for sunday blast in the middle of the countryside!!

Any ideas/ experience for how to customise baffle inserts??? I guess I could weld up some of the holes or something???

Or am I just gonna have to be noisy all day?

Cheers, J

they look similar but only one tube which has lots of holes in it all the way down. I insert the baffle and use screww at opening to secure. The holes are quite big (not small drill holes) and like a cheese grater, they bend slightly.

i saw this type at the Peterborough show last year, or at least something similar.
the guy on the stall said that the rows of triangular holes could be altered and the baffle could be tuned, i think there were extra ones that could be bent inwards to block up the tube more.

Thanks for the feedback Kevg! I think I may try adjusting the holes or welding up a few. Bit of a pain and the cans sound great but sometimes too much in town!!

Which Laser pipe do you have??
I know both the Dual Tech and the Hot Cam have DB killers available for them.
I've got the Dual tech ones and the bike actually runs better with the DB killers fitted
