SP1 Strange issue

Post by SP1 Bob »

Folks looking for some clues here.

My Speedo started started giving false readings so I took off the Speedo sensor with the plan to have checked and replace. Cleaned up and put it back on now I have a bike with no power to ignition!!

All I did was take off and then put back on. New battery fitted thinking it might be this and also didn't know how old it was.

All fuses good even swapping 30amp ones over in case ignition was blown and I couldnt quite see it.

Anyone have this happen to them or any clues to what is left to check please.

Thanks in advance

Have you shorted out the pins on the diagnostic plug to identify the fault?
It will flash a certain number of times to give you the fault code.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

 easy enough to do.
I was going to say a dodgy earth, but wanted to get the diagnostic feedback first.

Glad all's well now.

All put back together and just out on bike Speedo is doing the same again reading up to 20mph ish and then all over the place dropping to 0 etc. Knackered Speedo sensor I assume?
David Silver offered me a new one at £197 What's that all about I ask.

Any other models have same sensor?

Thanks

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
