Dodgy front discs from Ebay.....

Post by TaxiDriver »

I took a punt on a pair of wavy front discs from ebay for £90
They arrived yesterday and while one is in good condition the other has some corrosion issues.

The ally carrier is actually splitting when viewed through a loop.
So just a heads up if you see them back up for sale by a guy from Blackburn.

Got an etching tool?

Mark them as "condemned" or "cracked" before you send them back.

Off topic but idle curiosity. What makes a "wavy" disk better than a standard one? I've always wondered....

Whilst the other one needs a bit of cleaning its at least in sound condition.

I think they are branded as Comet on ebay new @ £150 a pair.
The quality of the alloy is very questionable to say the least....

Will just have to put my hand in pocket I guess....

There is no way you should accept those as fit for porpoise...

As said mark as condemed or something & highlight the cracks if poss.

If you paid by paypal via services you will be covered...

Start off by contacting the seller with your concerns, if he fails to play ball escalate to a return/refund via... https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/home

It sometimes take a bit of back & forth & a few weeks but play on the not fit for purpose bit...They are brake discs FFS any cracks renders them usless.

its a fashion thing. when they started being used it was the enduro world started it all but it was to help clear mud off the discs/pads then the road world took to them, so unless you do a lot of motox or enduros on your storm  they are for looks.
