Wheel colour

Post by Dazza2910 »

So the wheels are off and will be getting painted at my work. The big dilemma however, what colour.....

The bike is black. My current thinking is gold, but I'm open to ideas.....

if the bikes black, pretty much most folk would go gold.... rip the ass out of it and go for a mad fluro colour in yellow or orange.

Had an ex World Supersport CBR600 track bike that was black with gold wheels when I got it. Quite liked that.

Had thought of mad fluro colour but I'm aware that at some point I may want to sell it! Also, my work will probably use paint left over from another job, and none of the cars we do are fluorescent!

Should have said white is never gonna happen. To much of a pain in the butt to clean!

White, there I said it.

Not too much of a pain if you keep on top of keeping them clean.

If you're going for gold, make sure it matches the other gold items on your bike, Ohlins forks, rear sets, calipers etc.
Nothing worse than lots of different golds.

Yellow goes well with black, orange also zings.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Good point about the gold. Turns out there was not enough gold leftover from previous jobs to to the wheels anyway. All the colours they did have I didn't fancy. So going for black with the rim red instead of using rim tape afterwards.

Front isn't so bad, but rear is flaking off everytime you go near it!ImageImage

Looking nice there, I may he wrong, and I am sure someone will say so, but I can remember another thread mentioned that you need to have no paint where the break discs sit on the wheel... or something like that.

Your getting there
