New Sidi's

Post by bazza696 »

Need some advice

I have benn bought a new set of Black rains that have a strange lump on the sole, so it makes it hard to walk in and even harder to ride the bike.
I sent pictures to FC moto(where they we bought) and they weren't' sure about it, so rather than send them back, I got the UK Sidi distributor involved and they agreed it's not something they had seen.
With the emails from the distributer in the box, I have sent them back. After 6 weks of emails with FC moto, they sent them back to Sidi and they say it's a feature of that style of boot.

Where we are now, they will not refund me, they are sending them back because I have worn then once, but I had a short journer to find they aren't fit for purpose.

My dilemma is when they come back I can't wear them because of this charateristic of the sole?

I can sell them, but won't get all my money back, what can I do?

Go back to Sidi & complain about their dealer...

If Sidi has said its not a normal thing then surely they have some say over it with the dealer...

Bang on to Sidi about how you have used their wonderful products for a number of years but now you will no longer buy due to this...

Get back in touch with FC moto & this time include a letter from a Soliciter or such like or threaten them will legal action...

Or man up & use the boots...grind off the lump...simples...

There is a bulge in the sole, and looking at them it's like the sole and toe is reinforced like safety boots, I assume they are like this because they are a waterproof boot, there is not external strengthening.

Can you post pics?

I've got Sidi Rain Evo waterproof boots ( on second pair now) and much more comfy than the normal tight armoured boots of theirs.

IIIRC my first pair had a bubble form on sole when worn very thin after a few years wear & tear from walking.

"Sidi and they say it's a feature of that style of boot."

??? Mine don't have that lump - can you check in a dealers if any other boots on display have that hump, and if not take a comparison pic and show it to trading standards , back to shop / Sidi .

That's not a feature of the boot it's a defect!!!
Go to your local bike shop or nearest shop that have the boot in stock and check the sole. I had a similar issue with my sidi vortice but I went over the distributor and went direct to sidi who were more than happy to exchange/refund
Aha you know what it is black and yellow...black and yellow !!!

Sorry to say I've had trouble with Sidi boots before, and they made no attempt what so ever to help, the best Sidi boots are the most simple ones, forget the all singing ebmnd dancing ones unless you're going on the track.
Like mentioned before, take them to a motorcycle shop to compare, to be honest the only shop I tend to buy from now is Sportsbike shop.

I've worn Sidis
for years.
But the last pair I bought, Magtechs, were uncomfortable and I sold them on at a small loss and had my old ones resoled instead.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I have worded a strong email to them yesterday and this is there response

"Hello Barry,
Currently we are in dialogue with the complaint department of our supplier. That's the normal procedure. However, I have already requested that they send your boots to Sidi in Italy so that the manufacturer himself can submit a report. We really try very hard to reach a good solution for the customer.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / with kind regards

sounds like progress Bazza.

FC moto are a big shop in Achen, not just an internet seller, so I would hope they have enough clout with SIDI to help you.
