Oh, so thats what they call goldwings over there..., you never stop learning!
Not exactly a straight comparison to a firehawk tho..

It's not a Gold Wing, it's a Pan European. With a transverse V4 engine and lighter and more agile than a Gold Wing. Kind of somewhere between a VFR and a Gold Wing!

Yeah i ended up googling it, seems we got them as an ST1300 too. Never really came up on my radar. Not a lightweight.... cant imagine it being much more nimble than a GoldWing. That said;

i had a ST1100 a few years ago but sold it. Then realized that it was actually a good all rounder. Good enough on the A roads and surprisingly agile in the city. Tried a Blackbird with luggage as a substitute but that didn't work well for me. So ended up going for a ST1300.

These bikes have had years of development to be an all purpose bike, might be something to do wide spread police force usage

Yup the Pan 1100 is a riot of a bike, and yes it is bloody heavy if you have to push it around. Apart from that it's superb. Probably the best balanced bike I have every owned, as in you can take your hands off the bars and text at 40mph that balanced..... and still scrub the sides of the tyers when you want to.
If you can find one over there try and get a test ride, don't let high mileage put you off as long as it has had its big service done recently. They are not a prity bike but who cares, and fairing lugs are very brittle in cold weather.
Don't hassle me
I'll get there at some time
